WET HAIR SCREAMS WHEN TIED UP TIGHTLY.

Written by Melvin

Would your wet hair scream help when tied up wet if it could talk? Yes is the answer. I am sure if you have longish hair that you have done this on many occasions.

You have just stepped out of the shower after washing your hair. The phone rings or the doorbell goes. The easiest thing in the world then is to scrap your wet hair off your face. Grab your rubber hair band. Then pull it back tightly into a ponytail.

This is all very well if you do this loosely. Or let your hair down pretty soon afterwards. Then blow-dry or air-dry your hair. But to let your hair dry in this position is agony for your hair.

Wet Hair Ponytail.

5 Reasons Why You Should Not Tie Up Your Wet Tresses Tightly.

Reason 1. When you wash and condition your hair water enters your hair shaft and the hair expands. Your hair cuticles are open making your hair weak and fragile. Tying your hair up now can cause breakage

Reason 2. Wet hair can stretch up to 50% of its length. If you tie back your hair tightly in this state it will prevent it from shrinking back to its original position. Fragile stretched hair can break.

Reason 3. By pulling your hair strands back tightly when they are dense with water. Far more pressure is put on to the fine hairs around the hairline than if your hair wasInvisibobble For Wet Hair dry. This can cause hair breakage which causes the hair there to frizz.

Reason 4. As your wet hair will take longer to dry in this tied up position. You may perspire during the time your hair is tied back. This can end up with you feeling your scalp is itchy.

Reason 5. You will find that out of habit you will always pull back your wet hair. Then place the band in exactly the same place. Without even realizing it. This will damage the same patch of hair follicles which can lead to hair fall in that area.

Unnatural bends in your wet hair when your band is tied around, Can cause breakage to your wet hair. The tighter and the more often you tie your wet hair back like this the more the breakage.

If You Must Tie Up Your Hair When Wet.

If you have read the reasons not to yet still have to tie your wet hair back. Make sure you do so loosely.

I would recommend you use invisibobble’s to hold your hair. Whether it is wet or dry. With the smooth polyurethane surface the invisibobble will give you a firm hold with no kinks.

Otherwise why not loosely braid your hair instead.
