Hi, my name is Melvin Walden I am a Singapore based professional hairstylist. With many years of experience working with hair colors, cuts and hair extensions on both Asian and Caucasian hair.
My Hair Colors. Multi-dimensional blonde highlights a sun kissed look or a dramatic effect. There are many trends in hair coloring from highlights and balayage to face contouring just to name a few. I place great importance on picking the correct shade of blonde, red or brown and also the best technique to use when applying color to your hair.
My Haircuts. In precision cutting my clients hair I work to create a nice shaped haircut that will also enhance their best features. Be it a classical bob a whimsical layered lob or a short finger dry pixie look.
My Hair Extensions. For my clients who want fuller or longer hair real hair extensions are a great option. I use top of the line Great lengths 100% human hair extensions. Because when they are attached they are not easily distinguished from someones own hair.
My Philosophy – It’s all about making people happy and feeling good about themselves. Looking after your hair should always be uncomplicated, effortless and enjoyable.

The Start Of My Journey As A Hairstylist.
I started my career as a hairstylist working for the Vidal Sassoon in London spending several enjoyable years in the South Molten St and Sloane St salons.
During this time I progressed up to hold the position of an Artistic Director.
Taking part in demonstrations and workshops as well as overseeing the salons artistic standards.
Deciding on a change in my life. I took a leap of faith packed my bags and moved to a new job in Asia.
Venturing out of England for what I thought at the time would be a couple of years.
How wrong that thought turned out to be.
Now 30 years later I do smile at how those 2 years easily turned into 30.
My Work In Asia As A Singapore Based Professional Hairstylist.
For many years in Asia I was setting up and running various hairdressing schools, academies and hair salons. The businesses being located in three major Asian countries. Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia.
In the hairdressing schools the students who were on full time courses were trained in our 10 month novice to hairstylist program. Covering all aspects related to having a career in hairdressing.
Or attended our short academy advanced courses.
I spent a lot of time traveling extensively through out Asia during this period.Working for professional product companies endorsing their product ranges by conducting look & learn seminars, workshops and hair shows.
Being a Singapore based professional hairstylist I became involved and was instrumental in the setting up the Professional Hairdressing Business Association in Singapore.
Maybe getting a little older in the tooth or just a bit tired of traveling around I chose to base myself in a place I love.
Singapore a country that has transformed its self from the first time I visited into a beautiful modern multi cultural country.
I enjoy each day working in the salon. As I find working with hair a great medium for my artistic expression.
